NEW Good Faith Estimate form
Shopping for a mortgage just got a bit easier. In 2010, a new Good Faith Estimate form will be used by lenders to allow for an "apples-to-apples" comparison of loan terms from different lenders. When you apply for a loan, the GFE will be used to explain the terms in a way that helps you to find the best financing tool for you.

HUD gives some help to home buyers
Home buying is one of the most confusing things most people will ever try. Educating yourself to know what to expect is the best thing you can do.
The U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development requires lenders and mortgage brokers to give you a pamphlet when you apply for a loan. I think you should have that information BEFORE you apply!
